Great Sand Dunes National Park was our last stop and a beautiful treat on our way home. We raced the sunset as we drove east from Mesa Verde, triple checking sunset times and cruising down country roads. We arrived just in time to see the dunes and watch the sun set in this beautiful location. The Dunes are the tallest in North America and sit just west of the lower Rocky Mountains.
