After leaving Arlington, we walked to the Lyndon B. Johnson Memorial Grove on the Potomac (Pro tip: Longest walk ever! I recommend driving… or biking… or running). This is a hidden gem that appears to see much fewer visitors than other memorials. The spot was a favorite of Johnson’s to reflect and think. The view of the potomac overlooks the mall with traffic from the George Washington Parkway whizzing by unnoticingly. The monument is surrounded by a grove of white pines with some of Johnson’s best quotes.

On the walk to the park, we strolled through Lady Bird Johnson park which sits just on the other side of the Parkway from the LBJ memorial.
