Theodore Roosevelt Island

From LBJ, we ventured to Theodore Roosevelt Island. Having been to DC quite a few times and lived here for a summer, I thought I’d seen most of the monuments… but I was blown away by Teddy Roosevelt Island. After taking a footbridge across (no cars allowed), you walk a short path up to one of the most stunning monuments. The peace, seclusion and natural setting are very fitting for the President who worked hard to protect and conserve our lands. Along with the statue of Roosevelt are four panels with quotes that outline his philosophies on Nature, Manhood, Youth and The State.
