George Washington Parkway

George Washington Memorial Parkway stretches 25 miles from Mount Vernon, Washington’s home, north past Washington DC to Langley, VA. Not only does the parkway move vehicles, but trails wind along with it – with the parkway on one side and the Potomac River on the other. On my last trip to DC (while training for RAGBRAI) I rode from DC along this path all the way to Mount Vernon. We both drove and walked along the parkway on this trip and enjoyed the various sights.
