After leaving Theodore Roosevelt Island, we walked along the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail and then over the Francis Scott Key bridge along the Star-Spangled Banner National Historic Trail.

The Star-Spangled Banner trail connects historic sites of events that led to the Battle for Baltimore, which inspired Francis Scott Key to write the anthem. The Potomac Heritage Trail follows the routes explored by George Washington.
