Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve protects nearly 11,000 acres of prairie near Strong, Kansas. Less than four percent of prairie lands remain in the United States, once covering 140 million acres. The site includes a grand ranch home, barns and other structures from families who owned this land throughout the late 1800 and early 1900s.
